This alabaster candle holder is from crystallized stone. The cutting is done by hand gradually so the crystals don't break. With a tea light the alabaster candle holder gives a magical, warm light, showcasing the subtle veins in the stone. Because alabaster is a natural, semi-precious stone colours will vary, making every candle holder unique.
The work with the alabaster stone origins from the pharaonic era of Egypt. The alabaster stone exists in different shades of white and beige and in different densities of stone crystals. All the work is done by hand and the process goes through many steps. In order for the fine crystals in the stone not to break, the cutting must be done gradually over days.
