The God Thoth, the deity of the philosopher and the Lord of the Ashmunein

The meaning of his name, the name of Thoth, seems to have been taken from the supposed old name of Abu Qirdan in Egypt, i.e. “Tihu” after the addition of “T”, on the grounds that he was a king called Tehuti, “Thoth”, who possessed the characteristics and capabilities of Abu Qirdan

There is another derivation of the name that seems to have been a favorite among the Egyptians, linking it to the word “Takh” meaning weight We found it in a sentence quoted by “Lanzon”, where the deity was called “Takh”, and the sign corresponding to Takh “weight” is the heart The word also suffers from a bird, which is a meaning very close to the monkeys, the sacred bird representing Thoth, which, in the opinion of some ancient writers, is associated with the heart“Apollo” says that when the Egyptians wanted to write a heart, they used to draw monkeys because the bird expresses Hermes, Thoth, Lord of information and understanding

The attributes of Thoth were the product of lofty ideas, and they are perhaps the most sublime ideas of the attributes of the gods that were adopted by the Egyptians, which, as we have seen, were something applicable to the physical side of the divine subject. And it turned into that, with his full embodiment of the mind of God, and as a ruler and monastery of the forces of heaven and earth

And from the previous information, we see that Thoth was considered a self-creating, self-producing god, and that he was the one who made the calculations for the creation of the heavens, stars, and earth, and that he was the heart of Ra, and that he was the Lord of Law in both his material and moral states, and that he knew “the divine speech and the ability to speak,” meaning that His words are influential and he is credited with the authorship of many funeral books by which the deceased can gain the immortality of life
The moon god was painted in the form of a human body with the head of a monkey, and this god used to replace the crowns that he wore over his head according to the occasions or seasons he attended, and in other words, the crown changed according to the divine function that the ancient Egyptian artist wanted to present it with, so if the occasion was related to harvest and time The crown that he wears appears above his head consisting of the crescent moon and the sun disk, and sometimes he wears the “if” crown, and sometimes he wears the unified crown of the two countries called the double crown
